Young ESU

The ESU brings together and empowers people of different languages and cultures. By building skills and confidence in communication, we give people the opportunity to realise their potential. Worldwide, the members and alumni of the ESU support these objectives.

Our vision is to provide young people in the Queensland with communication skills, confidence and networking opportunities. We endeavour to see that the value of good communication as an essential attribute for individual, community and global development and understanding is publicly recognised and widely integrated into education and social policy.

There is a growing appreciation of the need to improve the opportunities available to young people to develop their communication skills and to understand diversity in a complex world. The ESU can have an increasing role to play in filling the gaps.

Globally, English is widely recognised as the language of dialogue between people not sharing a common tongue. It is the language of diplomacy, of commerce, of the internet, of national and personal advancement in the broadest sense. This situation also presents great opportunity for the ESU and for its affiliate branches established throughout the world.

ESUQLD is expanding its connections with other like-minded bodies and we believe these co-operations will enhance the contribution we can make towards the development of young people and enable their talent to flourish in the new world order.

We shall become more and more involved with the ESUs international activities, as well as running our own scholarship exchanges and programs.

In 2011 we established Debating, Public Speaking and Cultural Awareness programs in partnership with SBITs School of Language and Learning.
