It’s been a year of shifting fortunes. Covid started to recede, then the floods returned to afflict Brisbane again, then Covid was back for another round.

The ESU Queensland has been able to reignite its events, and both our competitions have been going gangbusters.

Queen Elizabeth II used the phrase “annus horribilis” or “dreadful year”… Maybe she was being prophetic.

2019 was a challenging year for the English-Speaking Union (Queensland), and a year of transition.
