AESU and Australian branches

Australian English-Speaking Union Limited (AESU)

On 20 February 2010, the state and territory branches of the English-Speaking Union in Australia agreed to establish a forum to enable consultation between the Australian branches. The resulting Consultative Council for the English-Speaking Union of the Commonwealth of Australia became incorporated as the Australian English-Speaking Union Ltd (AESU).

This agreement unites all branches, creating a unified structure that is fully answerable to all branches to carry out branch directives.

AESU has the overriding objective of promoting global understanding and friendship through the use of the English language.

AESU maintains regular contact with the Secretary General and President of the International Council of the English-Speaking Union by sending an annual report on activities, and responding to requests for information.

This amalgamation of ESU state and territory branches enables ESU (Qld) to access the support and educational resources of ESU International and elevates Australia into an acknowledged position of leadership within the Asia–Pacific region.
