The ESU Queensland Branch invites members and guests to a delightful evening of entertainment, food and discussion at which award winning performer, Noel Stallard, will present a wonderful array of bush poetry.
Through the genre of Bush Poetry, Noel Stallard will present a selection of traditional, modern and original poems that capture what it means to be an Aussie. On Australia Day 2019 Noel was presented with an OAM for service to literature. His highest achievement as a bush poet to date, is winning the 2003 Australian Championship at Mulwala. This is Australia’s highest award for a performing bush poet.
Having gained the Approval Card of The Queensland Arts Council, Noel has performed for students and adults in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, the ACT and internationally in Ireland over the past eleven years. Noel’s repertoire includes the works of Banjo Paterson, C.J. Dennis, Henry Lawson and a variety of modern bush poets.In recent years Noel has written his own bush poetry, and in 2001 his first book entitled”Chalk Dust and Bull Dust” was published. More than 1000 copies were sold that year and the book is now into its fourth printing.
The event will commence at 6:00 pm, with drinks on arrival.
Guests will then enjoy a delicious Middle Eastern and Mediterranean-inspired dinner provided by the renowned Momani’s restaurant. All dishes will be served at the table and will be table-shared.
The dinner will be served at 6:45 pm and be followed by Noel Stallard’s presentation.
Dessert will be served following the conclusion of the presentation and discussion.
